Dear Frisco Families,

Please watch this video blog to learn about what we have been up to in STEM classes.

THANK YOU Town of Frisco and the PTSA for your donations over my two years here! Here are some examples of purchases we have made for your students!

  • Dash (see above): Block programming
  • Makey Makey: Circuits, innovation (see our photos and video for fourth grade)
  • Five iPads: iPad apps run robots like our Spheros with the chariots and Dash
  • Lego for Education Programmable Building Kits: Innovation, following directions, problem solving
  • Student field trips and guest speakers: Each grade received $1000 from STEM donations to travel and pay for STEM related guest experiences in order to make learning more authentic.
  • STEM materials: We are always purchasing things like duct tape, pipecleaners, popsicle sticks, and other random materials for the maker space to keep construction options wide open.
  • Collaborative furniture for our library media and STEM spaces
You are all just amazing!

VEX Competition: Wow! Let's get after it, Frisco Panther VEX Team! 3:30-6:00 PM on March 8 at Summit Middle School

Welcome to STEM!

Dear Panther Families, I am so excited to be a part of your Frisco Elementary teaching faculty, and I’m excited to work with your children in STEM class! STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and our class explores the process of engineering design, and we collaborate with teachers to connect classroom activities to real life careers. We will learn and practice good digital citizenship, too. Wait until you see the tools we will use to imagine, build, and reimagine! I come to you from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, a town between Madison and Milwaukee. My husband Jason and I have two children. Our daughter Alex is a junior at Indiana-Bloomington, and our son Brendan is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (my alma mater! Go, Badgers!). We love live music, running, hiking, and skiing, much like everyone else in this beautiful county. Professionally, I have taught six years of third grade, two years of fourth grade, and seven years of sixth grade, three y...

I will be requesting NutKases for grades 3 and 4 when we come back from break. If you would like to put in an order before then , here is the link to do so. NutKases are fabulously protective of your child's technology, and as I have been sharing, most damage will be waived, if we know your child has the case on when damage occurs.  If you have already requested one, please ask your child if it is on their Chromebook. Some of the older students have them, but they are sometimes a little resistant to using them.  You can clean the outside of the Chromebook and the keyboard with wipes or a damp cloth. There have been a few cases wher...
